EM Photonics is an industry leader in using commodity hardware devices to accelerated numerical computations. Spawning from our work developing modeling and simulation tools, EM Photonics has built the technologies necessary to accelerate computationally intense tasks without the use of supercomputers or large PC clusters. Through novel use of FPGA, DSP, and graphics-card technology, EM Photonics is able to create compact, hardware-based systems capable of incredible computational speeds. This allows us to create accelerated workstations capable of replacing massive PC clusters and embedded devices with the power of supercomputers. Our commercial accelerated products include the
CelerityTM platform, the
EMPLabTM Accelerator [PDF], and the
FastFDTDTM toolkit. We also develop solutions for clients on a
custom basis.
EM Photonics is a full lifecycle provider of electromagnetic and optical devices such as antennas, nano-photonic components, and millimeter-wave imaging systems. These devices are completely designed, built, and characterized in house by EM Photonics' engineers. Our experience in developing modeling tools, designing components, fabricating structures, and characterizing devices allows us to take projects from a concept to a manufacturable device. We have designed devices for many fields including telecommunications, spectroscopy, communications, imaging, and bio-medical applications. Our unique fabrication processes have allowed us to create active and passive structures in silicon, III-V, and polymer materials for use in many different applications.
This in-depth knowledge and extensive experience with electromagnetic and optical devices has allowed us to create our own in-house software design tools for easy device modeling and accurate simulation solutions. Details on these tools can be found on the
EMPLabTM and
PBGLabTM software packages.
