Built on top of MATLAB, EMPLab has an intuitive graphical user interface that allows problems to be defined and solved in a matter of minutes. EMPLab AcceleratorThe EMPLab Accelerator is an upgraded version of our standard EMPLab software package. However, the EMPLab Accelerator is no ordinary upgrade. Unlike our EMPLab Toolboxes, it does not bring additional functionality. Instead, it increases computational speed. Speedups of over 200x can be achieved with the EMPLab Accelerator when compared to the standard EMPLab package! The EMPLab Accelerator utilizes the graphics card in your computer, in addition to the PC’s microprocessor, to perform the meshing and simulation operations. Thus, as graphics card technology improves, so will the speed of the Accelerator with no need for software updates. Unlike FastFDTDTM, the EMPLab Accelerator has been integrated directly into EMPLab and can also accelerate the meshing processing, a frequently time consuming operation. This particular toolbox requires a version of EMPLab that will only run on MATLAB 7.0 or greater. If you do not have MATLab 7.0, please do not request this version of EMPLab, ver 2.1 or greater, as the whole program, not just this toolbox, will not be able to run.
