MPLab offers a variety of different tools that can be bought separate from the main CAD tool and added to the EMPLab program. Since they are simple add-on toolboxes, users who are familiar with the EMPLab system will have no difficulty to using these add-on features. Currently, our software is featuring the following toolboxes:

• 3D Planar - Model finite-height structures
• Mode Solver - Solves guided modes in dielectric waveguides
• Unit Cell Analysis - Computes dispersion and bandgap properties for 2D photonic crystal lattices
